At the start of the second quarter of 2006, ČMKS holding delivered the tenth 621.1 class diesel locomotive to representatives of Serbian Railways. Locomotive 621.110 is the final locomotive manufactured in this series for now, although a further two locomotives are expected to be supplied this year. They should be followed by a second ten-locomotive series, which is currently under preparation.

The supply of 621.1 class locomotives is HOLDING ČMKS’s first major order to manufacture new two-axle diesel locomotives. HOLDING ČMKS’s activities linked with the renewal of diesel locomotive production in the Czech Republic are thus paying dividends. The first “Serbian” 709 class locomotive – serial no. 621.101, which was exhibited in early October 2005 at the 47th International Engineering Fair in Brno – was awarded the MSV 2005 Gold Medal in the transport equipment category at that event.
